    @rocksea:
Well first i would say , nice one..:)

May it be FASTing or indulging, I feel in today’s world there are no Do’s and Don’t.
It’s that you get convinced by what you actually wanna do, and you have atleast one reason for not doing what you don’t want to.
Even i do fast ,but you know thnigs change with time and one tries to convince oneself.

anyways it was nice reading this one.

I am convinced. Thanks for your clarification.

i dont personally go for fasting though most of the religions including christianity have several days of fasting as part of the religion. in christianity, it is more liberal compared to islam.

oh here, i am not talking about pre-marital sex. just pointing out the priorities one may give during a lent season. some people avoid taking non-veg, some people avoid certain meals, some people avoid sex, and some people think it is more important to keep your mind and actions clear than the former things. got it? 🙂

then again, one of the major reasons of a lent season is to cleanse your mind and make you pure at heart. so will avoiding sex just during this time do any good to you or anyone as a person? should sex be considered as a sin to be avoided or instead, considered as an essential factor of married life?

Do you also subscribe to the idea of Fasting? I did not know that Roxy. Fasting is considered a great thing in Islam and I have been fasting ever since I can remember. I am a bit confused about your idea on sex as the conversation published here seems really abstract. I might sound primitive, but I still belive in the idea of after-marriage sex. Whats your take on that?

  5. Vinu says:

    Yes Roxy..Will do tht…

    kalesh, 🙂

lol. Theresa, that was a nice comment. it is human to please oneself. 95% of guys and i donno how many gals (haha cuz i shud say less sexual awareness, societal notions), are being human, so it is natural. may be the ways are different. anyways letz not go astray.

abt love, am impressed by your perseverance. let us hope you’ve someone as understanding on the otherside too. for me, though am in a long distance, sarah is so understanding. there are short moments when i felt left out but she comes running to mend it 🙂 Do well in your exams!

I never do such as traditions in Ask Wednesday and stuff… but I believe in God and I never had sex ever before… but I’m also into those sexual stuff a bit. Not really because I want to pleasure myself and that I’m a sex maniac. It’s just that I’m only human and I can’t help myself. lol I’m talking weird. x_X Don’t get me wrong. I don’t masturbate or the likes.

Anyways, thanks for ideas on how to make my relationship better than now. I e-mail him a lot especially when we don’t get to talk much… but I guess he’s too busy and tired to even reply… but atleast I know he reads it. As for the snailmail, I guess I would really be considering to give it a try. After my exams of course. ^^ I’m sure any guy would appreciate as much effort as I already have had put in our relationship.

pidiyana, let us take it beyond the lent. and let it not be for lent but for life.

wish you all the happiness and peace

  10. pidiyana says:

    Lol!!

Lent began with smearing of ashes on my forehead. Lent began with the abstenance from hurtful deeds. Lent began with the cleansing of sad thoughts from my heart. Lent began with the promise of peace by the end of it.

Very entertaining – and enlightening – post. And a great blog all around. Will come around and check out your other Malgudi Days and Mile Sur links some time later.

    Best.

  13. silverine says:

    No thanks !!!

Bon Apetit to both of you !! Don’t catch the bird flu :))

  14. rocksea says:

silverine.. oh when i was a child (holy communion days) i used to take lent and everyone including my parents tried to break it as i was not eating anything haha.

anyways later it was mummy who gave me the idea that it is better to refrain from bad deeds (lies, anger etc and not of course murder and like) than refrain from some food.

am having a grand dinner today. fish curry, egg roast with thickened gravy and chicken chicken fried and spicy aroma filling the nostrils.. care to join me n sarah??

  15. silverine says:

p.s. I am definitely giving up Chicken for Lent :))

p.p.s so are the other million Indian non vegetarians even though they dont observe Lent ha ha

  16. silverine says:

I am a vegetarian teetotaller from today 🙁
    God help me!!
