life and questions

Life bestows us with a lot of interesting questions, hurdles and most people shrug off from all these. They’re satisfied with what life brings them.

Well, what does life mean? At least, what does life mean for us? For me, what does the 25 years I’ve gone through mean?

As you leave the walls of your mother’s womb, as you get cut off the umbilical cord, you think you’re free….oh no… as soon as you set your foot on this place you know you’re in the wrong place; but you’ve no choice!

Life here is just being: study when you’re young, then have a job, then get married, then have children and worry on them, then let them have the study then let they worry about the job, then…. it goes like a cycle. Everyone tries to keep the cycle, keeping in mind what god once said, go on, reproduce as the sand grains on this earth.. Is it all about life?

This is not against being materialistic, but against being totally materialistic. We’ve to have something out of our life, something at least we could be proud of at the end of our life..

Hey, go and stir the sugar, unless you never gonna get the taste!

Let your thoughts be unprompted, your concepts be spontaneous; Go off the circle a bit, throw off your watches, redraw the boundaries, let the time be no constraint, let the world be no constraint.

Not asking you to sit and meditate all the time; but just be conscious: that there should be some meaning to your life…

greatness of gita (Bhagavat Gita) is that:
Krishna didn’t change the ‘paristhithi’
he changed the ‘manasthithi’

he didn’t change the circumstances
he gave the knowledge how to face it

God won’t come and do whatever for you. He has given you more than enough knowledge and power to pursue life. It’s your road ahead; you’ve to walk alone.

hi rocksea and sarah, accidently found this site, and would like to say that you have a very interesting site.
sarah: you look the least like a ‘thinker’ but the vastness of your thoughts is really amazing!

  2. rocksea says:

awareness of life (to what extend?) is just an attribute we’ve due to being an evolved species. i dont see anything special than just a tuned species in us, who can think and do things far better.

I can agree to that. Like I said, the better equiped helps the less equiped, thereby balancing out the survival act. (The better equiped need not be the best equiped). Helping the survival of the fellow creatures is in the instincts of most species irrespective of where they are placed in the heirarchy of animal kingdom. However, what makes us unique from them is perhaps that we are aware of life itself. We are able to trace back to our origins and understand the concept of ‘living’. We are able to think on a conscious level. With that we come to think about life’s purpose which no other creature in the heirarchy could be thinking of! Perhaps that is why we not only help others but also think of making it better for the future by learning from experiences. Also, that is why maybe we have the power to choose. Our understanding of life and where and how we want to choose to drive it lies in our consciousness. Certainly, we don’t have to defy the law of survival to lead a meanigful life. As a part of this nature still, we have to keep the instincts of survival in us.

sarah, the natural tendency of mankind or any living thing would be to survive. It is just that being on top on the hierarchy of animal kingdom gives us an opportunity to take care of others too. or to lead a meaningful life.

So how do we lead this meaningful life? I don’t think we can go against the natural law of survival. If we want to help others, we have to survive first. If we want to love others, we need to have love. If we want to help others mentally, physically or spiritually, we need to be in a better position to help them..

when I think of life now, it is with you. I can say, whatever I might think and do involves you. And, your importance is so much and great that you become my life. So my thoughts of life is thougts about you and us. 🙂

keep thinking of life and of course more when that life is me 😉

Don’t you start thinking about life in those terms when you start being conscious about your own existence? I know a few people whom I have met through my journey in life so far who have not even cared to think what their life is for. It was hard for me to digest initially ’cause I have been having these questions often entering my mind since early age and I thought the others must be thinking the same. They live ’cause they are born. They go with the flow…they just take life as it comes and least bit bothered on thinking why life is that way and what can they contribute to it. Well, each one to their own thoughts and ways of thinking and taking life.

For me, it might still be an unanswered question to a great extent, yet I try my best to give an answer. Live life in a way to have no regrets at the end of your days. Do what your heart says, but don’t ignore your mind. Now, what is this heart and mind and why am I aware of them? The small bid to know the mysteries of the purpose of life has also led me to know God( not in biblical terms, but my own) closer and in turn know myself/ my conscience closer,or be realized that I don’t know all that much.

Very often I have looked back and realized that how my existence in the lives of many have affected/ altered their worlds. Be it a few seconds, minutes or even years. I still have many who look upon me to alter their worlds and some who would keep me away coz they know that I might alter their world. So, does that make my existence evident to others? That has given me a sort of answer that you are here to affect one another and in the process we keep learning more and more to attain better levels of maturity. The more you learn, the more you become aware of your existence and the more you yearn to do in life. Each second of yours can have a major impact on someone else, their lives, their consciousness.

Now, let’s give it a neo thought and a twist… beacause we affect others, we try to give the best to the life and other lives ( example: one reason why we thought of adoption too, isn’t it Roxy?). This, not necessarily because we found the answer, but because we are trying to find the answer this way too? If everyone tries to find answer this way, the world would be a better place to live in with more tolerance. In a way, the better equipped tries to defend the less equipped. The less equipped ( mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually, etc…) survive and the better equipped live by helping the survival. So, is it an evolutionary process of mere survival of species? If so, at the end of the day, it brings us to the same page…SURVIVAL. So ultimately this turns out to be a PARADOX! Hold on, that is just one way that you can put it.

But whatever it is, I might still be searching for the answer till the end and maybe when I take my final breath I will get to know if I lived my life right and if my life was worth and the purpose served. I might leave the world still with no answers, but then once you leave the world, what’s the big deal? You have left the place that gave you more questions about life than answers. Will it matter?

am talking abt a grown up person, someone who started thinking of himself/herself. of course other people come n go in our life and have the butterfly effect 1 but still it can be the other way around. you can be the butterfly. you can induce the butterfly effect.

    1. butterfly effect: the phenomenon whereby a small change at one place in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere, e.g., a butterfly flapping its wings in Rio de Janeiro might change the weather in Chicago

  9. sneha says:

no u got me completely wrong!i’m not talking bout a partner…just everyone else in ur life.doesnt each person u meet effect the decisions u take?like ur parents for instance.they decided u shld be named so n so, u shld go to such n such school, stay in such n such places till a certain age…all that will, n i guess most definitely has contributed in making u, well u!there are times in life where its not really in ur hands, so some else decides for u…that cld be anyone.
n yeah, i dont belive u need a partner to find answers in life…if u do, well i think that relationship will be meaningless.2 halfs may make a whole, but then its not like they have a choice rite?think its more exciting, n yes meaningful, wen 2 wholes meet 🙂

  10. rocksea says:

may be we don’t have to look for answers all the time.. questions could be the answers, meaning to life now n then. just wondering at the life around makes one alert and part of it, giving a meaning to life.

  11. rocksea says:

    $moontalk
“its part wat u choose, n part wat the guy on the other side chooses for u, n for him”

means, you’re talking in terms of a partner? well, finding a meaning in life should be possible regardless of one’s partner..

  12. moontalk says:

hmmm!true that most ppl do shrug off most questions that life brings.its easier that way, isn’t it?

i’ve not really been able to get a lot of answers…maybe i’ve not been looking hard enough huh?always tot life was a lot like a game…its part wat u choose, n part wat the guy on the other side chooses for u, n for him.n so, sometimes u win, even wen u wer not the best, n sometime u lose, not coz u wer not good, but coz someone was better.but then, u’ll never knw untill we go till the finish line rite?
